Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) has not even begun shipping its highly-anticipated SUV— the Model X— but the vehicle is already being compared to other popular SUVs in the market.
Model X is said to achieve zero to 60 miles per hour in just four seconds, which makes it the fastest available SUV, two times faster than Porsche’s Cayenne Turbo and the Cayenne Turbo S.
The Model X has been priced at $110,000, while the Cayenne Turbo will set you back $111,395 and the Cayenne Turbo S has a price tag of $146,995.
It has been estimated that the Model X will consume 400 watt hours per mile, considerably more than what other efficient and popular SUVs use, evidence that Tesla is a solid play as long as its battery technology is concerned.
The estimated price of the Model X ($110,000) does not encompass features such as autopilot or tech package; the addition of these features will translate into a higher selling price.
